The new Friend Report is live

Your friends are out there doing some amazing runs. Sometimes, what’s really amazing is that they’re finally getting back in the groove after life took them away from it for a while. Other times, the amazing thing is that they’ve been steadily working towards their goals for months without fail. Or it could be that they’re finally hitting their goals, setting PR’s and achieving things they set their sites upon years ago.

Whatever they’re doing, wherever they are in their training, the fact is, having someone recognize their hard work and perseverance can make all the difference.

The problem is that it can be hard to keep track of it all. Have they started running regularly again? Was that last race a personal record? Did they really run before 6am three times last week?

That’s the problem we’re trying to solve. Smashrun’s Friend Report doesn’t just tell you how much your friends ran, instead it does its best to put that running in context.

The new Smashrun Friend Report gets sent out every Tuesday and will show weekly highlights for each of your friends. And if you want, it can also include a number of different leaderboards – you can select the ones you care about or turn them all off entirely.

You can configure the report exactly how you want (or disable it entirely) by going to the Settings > Report page.

What happened to the 30 for 30 badge (run 30 days in a row)? It was there before I did it, but now it’s gone. I got the 10 for 10, 20 for 20 and 30 for 30. Next up is 50 for 50, but again, the 30 for 30 disappeared after I managed to complete it.

Well done putting together a 30 days streak!
These streak badges are some of the oldest badges on Smashrun. They come in groups of 5 of a kind. The good news is that there were only ever 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 day streak badges. So, there’s no danger of other badges disappearing just before you get them.
Are you going to hang in there for the 50 day?

Once it starts snowing, I’m out. I’m 69 and I don’t run on snow and ice. I also have osteoarthritis in my feet, knee problems and back problems. If there is no 30 for 30 badge, maybe there should be one.
What’s really odd is that today I got a badge for running on alternate days for 33 days – which I most certainly did not do; I ran/walked 33 days straight. And I’d never, ever seen the alternate for 33 days badge before.

Friend report arrived today. I love it! The summary stats for each person are really nicely done. Congrats!

Does the report add up correctly? Mine seems to have Monday twice and then it has 21km each time when I ran 10km one Monday and 11km on the other.

Thanks for the report. It looks like there was an issue with the distance leaderboard. It’ll be fixed for next Tuesday’s report

Um, Houston, we have a problem. I got a badge for a month of alternating days for over a month. It says to get the badge you have to run every other day within a period of 33 days.
I did *not* run “every other day” – I did *every* day for over a month. It was *not* “on/off on/off” It was on for 33 days and the 30 for 30 badge that I was working for disappeared after I achieved it. Please fix your system. I worked hard for that 30 for 30 badge.

Is there anyway to find friends on here? I would like to add some more, is there a way to see local runners?
